The Promise and Possibility of Social Role Valorization Zoom Online Platform

March 12, 2021 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Who can Attend?  This event is intended for those engaged with the Theological Research and Communications Institute in New Delhi

So many strategies have been adopted to uplift those who lead lives full of deprivation because of the judgements of their fellow citizens. Many have failed us, and often it is difficult to sort out helpful ways that individual and societal circumstances can change. Social Role Valorization (SRV) gives us powerful insight into the experiences of marginalized and oppressed people, and its response framework opens of the possibilities for change. Join us for this brief yet helpful overview of the framework of SRV, which is intended to awaken your identification with devalued people and propose simple yet potent ways to move forward differently in how we might help. We will gear the presentation in the application of SRV to people with disabilities within society, and will open discussion regarding how communities of faith might play a powerful role in welcoming all worshippers.
