Ageing and the Good Things of Life: The Application of Social Role Valorization to Supporting People as They Age An SRV Study Group over Zoom from Australia

June 22, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 11:30 am

Please join  Ronda Held, Mike Rungie, and John Armstrong for an exploration of how social devaluation and SRV theory can be a helpful way to understand the experiences of many older people in society, and offer insights into how SRV might be applied. This session will outline some of the issues contributing to the ongoing wounding of older people, and provide examples of ways in which SRV has been used to address these and work towards good lives for older people. These include systematic efforts by an aged care organisation, and a state wide training project that has invested over 20 years of work to build the capacity of aged care services using SRV principles.
