Pre-Conference Session

SRV International Conference Pre-Session Announcement

Dear Conference-Goers:

Are you interested in brushing up on your foundational SRV knowledge the day before the conference launches? Interested in a brief SRV overview presented by seasoned SRV trainer Jo Massarelli of the SRVIP? Well then this is for you.

People new to the ideas as well as those deeply engaged in Social Role Valorization are all welcome. In light of all the different time zones, all who register will also have access to a recording of the event for the duration of the conference.

A Brief Primer on Social Role Valorization
This brief overview of Social Role Valorization is intended to be primer for those who are interested in attending the upcoming International SRV Conference February 22-24, and want to have some basic information on the topic. It will also be a useful refresher for those who have studied SRV. Topics covered are social devaluation and how it is made manifest in people’s lives, the importance of valued social roles in assisting people to experience the good things of life, and the ten themes whereby SRV is expressed. The session is presented by veteran SRV teacher Jo Massarelli, Director of the SRV Implementation Project based in Worcester, Massachusetts. Jo worked closely with Dr. Wolfensberger, inventor of SRV. She has taught workshops with him across the globe, and she is an associate of the Training Institute in Syracuse, New York. Jo is also a founding member of the North American SRV Council and the International SRV Association.
