SUMMARY:Towards a Better Life: Introduction to Social Role Valorization (SRV)
DESCRIPTION:About this Workshop:\nLearn a framework that helps give meaning and depth and helps to make the most of contemporary opportunities! This workshop explores how getting valued roles can lead to changed societal perceptions and strengthen the likelihood that people with a devalued status will get a better life. \nThe core themes and principles of SRV will be explored through presentations\, exercises and discussions. Completion allows entry to the 5 day practicum\, PASSING. \nWho Should Attend: \nThis workshop is designed for participants from a range of sectors (disability\, aged care\, mental health\, youth etc). This will include support workers\, coordinators\, family members\, people with disabilities\, people with a mental illness and older people receiving services. Participants will be people who are looking for ways of meeting the real needs of marginalised people\, resulting in a better lives. \nEvent details: \n\nWednesday 9th and Thursday 10th 2026 (participants must attend both days).\nOn day 1\, please arrive at 8:15 AM to sign in\, for an 8:45 AM start. Concludes at 5:00 PM.\nOn day 2\, please arrive at 8:30 AM to sign in\, for a 9:00 AM start.
